BACKGROUND

Sonia Lowe is an artist, filmmaker, storyteller, and creative entrepreneur whose work spans film, television, publishing, and international media. whose career spans documentary filmmaking, international feature film production, film sales, development, and broadcast journalism.

She began her filmmaking career producing music documentaries, including Remembering Michael and Between the Lines, before moving into independent feature film production and international film development. She has produced two independent feature films, including The Gasoline Thieves, which won the Best New Director Award at the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival, and It Came From the Desert.

Beyond production, Lowe has worked in international film sales and acquisitions, packaging projects for the global marketplace while developing financing, distribution, and audience strategies for independent films. Her experience spans the creative and commercial sides of filmmaking—from story development and production through international sales and market positioning.

Her work has also appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Good Morning America, Dateline NBC, Entertainment Tonight, E! News, NBC, Hallmark, and DreamWorks. As a journalist and producer, she has interviewed some of the world's most recognizable talent, including Angelina Jolie, George Clooney, Lady Gaga, Bruce Willis, Kevin Costner, and Salma Hayek.

Today, Lowe is the founder of Solo Films, an independent studio developing psychologically driven prestige cinema that blends mythology, suspense, feminine psychology, and emotionally immersive storytelling.
